I asked my mother: “Where is the lush, tall grass?” As puzzled as me, she said nothing. I was shocked to see the differences between the grassland in my dream and what was in front of me.

On the way home, I thought a lot and tried to find answers.

Now I am old enough to bring awareness to other people and share my dream for the grasslands. Overgrazing and extensive farming have ruined the grassland and so taken away the charm of our homeland. But I am confident that one day the grasslands will recover and its true wealth and beauty will be realized as long as everybody gives his contribution to restore our homeland.

一、多維一體化英語(yǔ)教學(xué)模式的基本框架

傳統(tǒng)的英語(yǔ)教學(xué)從活動(dòng)角度將教學(xué)劃分為教、學(xué)、管三要素,其缺點(diǎn)在于不能顯示學(xué)生在教學(xué)中的主體地位,基本上忽視了學(xué)校教育條件的制約作用。按照系統(tǒng)論的觀點(diǎn),系統(tǒng)整體的功能大于各孤立部分之和,亦即1+1>2。沒(méi)有結(jié)構(gòu)、沒(méi)有整體功能的系統(tǒng)是不存在的。從系統(tǒng)論的觀點(diǎn)出發(fā),多維一體化英語(yǔ)教學(xué)模式研究揭示了構(gòu)成英語(yǔ)教學(xué)有效性的主要維度,以及維度間的相互作用,并通過(guò)對(duì)多維加以優(yōu)化,構(gòu)成了一個(gè)有機(jī)的整體,從而較為有效地解決了英語(yǔ)教學(xué)中的許多疑難問(wèn)題,順利實(shí)現(xiàn)了英語(yǔ)教學(xué)的總目標(biāo)。

從上圖可以看出,多維一體化教學(xué)模式的主要維度有:環(huán)境、教師、學(xué)生、教材、教學(xué)方法和學(xué)習(xí)過(guò)程。環(huán)境包括社會(huì)環(huán)境和語(yǔ)言環(huán)境,環(huán)境影響教師的英語(yǔ)目標(biāo)設(shè)計(jì),也影響教師和學(xué)生的心理活動(dòng),甚至對(duì)教學(xué)過(guò)程、教學(xué)效果都產(chǎn)生影響。而英語(yǔ)的總體目標(biāo)又反過(guò)來(lái)影響環(huán)境建設(shè);教師的一切行為受制于總目標(biāo),他通過(guò)教材、環(huán)境等媒介影響學(xué)生。而學(xué)生除了受外部因素的影響之外,還受內(nèi)部因素影響,例如:最佳學(xué)習(xí)年齡、語(yǔ)言潛能、個(gè)性和情感條件等。所以教師應(yīng)注意發(fā)揮學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)的潛能、發(fā)展學(xué)生的個(gè)性,培養(yǎng)其積極向上的情感態(tài)度,創(chuàng)設(shè)良好的學(xué)習(xí)條件,以取得最好的學(xué)習(xí)效果。教師在教學(xué)中應(yīng)該幫助學(xué)生形成適合自己的學(xué)習(xí)策略,并使學(xué)生具備不斷調(diào)節(jié)自己的學(xué)習(xí)策略的能力,這樣才有利于形成學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)自主性。由于教和學(xué)的方法得當(dāng),在教學(xué)過(guò)程中,師生就會(huì)較順利地完成英語(yǔ)教學(xué)目標(biāo)。

二、多維一體化英語(yǔ)教學(xué)模式的總體目標(biāo)

明確中職生的學(xué)習(xí)需要和目標(biāo),對(duì)英語(yǔ)學(xué)習(xí)表現(xiàn)出較強(qiáng)的自信心。能就日常生活的各種話題與外國(guó)人進(jìn)行一般交流,并簡(jiǎn)單陳述自己的觀點(diǎn)。聽(tīng):聽(tīng)懂接近正常語(yǔ)速、熟悉話題的短文,能抓住所聽(tīng)語(yǔ)段中的關(guān)鍵詞,理解句子之間的邏輯關(guān)系。說(shuō):能有條理地描述個(gè)人體驗(yàn)和表達(dá)個(gè)人的見(jiàn)解。能就日常話題與外國(guó)人進(jìn)自由交談,并闡述自己觀點(diǎn)。讀:要求認(rèn)知單詞4000左右,能順利閱讀一般性的文章,獲取自身需要的信息。能讀英文報(bào)紙。寫(xiě):能流利表達(dá)自己的觀念,寫(xiě)出連貫且結(jié)構(gòu)完整的短文約200-300字左右。文體規(guī)范、語(yǔ)句通順流暢。

(一)環(huán)境

5.英語(yǔ)廣播:每天分中午和晚餐之后進(jìn)行兩次,由學(xué)生主持。主要用英文播送時(shí)事新聞和英文歌曲。

6.英語(yǔ)大使:為了在學(xué)生中樹(shù)立學(xué)習(xí)的榜樣,推廣口語(yǔ),在學(xué)生中選出優(yōu)秀學(xué)生做英語(yǔ)大使。他們負(fù)責(zé)接待外來(lái)參觀者,分別用中英文向來(lái)賓介紹學(xué)校情況。

7.節(jié)日活動(dòng):學(xué)校慶祝中西方主要節(jié)日,用雙語(yǔ)進(jìn)行交流活動(dòng),并且利用節(jié)日向?qū)W生介紹中西文化。例如:每年一次的Halloween化裝舞會(huì)、Christmas carnival、Thanksgiving Day等等。

8.英語(yǔ)活動(dòng)日:英語(yǔ)活動(dòng)日是指由英語(yǔ)老師和外籍教師將學(xué)生帶到戶外,走出課室的另一種教學(xué)形式。例如:帶學(xué)生到麥當(dāng)勞、Pizza Hut去參觀,在這種特定的環(huán)境下教會(huì)學(xué)生怎樣Order食物,或?qū)W一些特定的食物名稱等。

(二)師生人本化

“以人為本,促進(jìn)發(fā)展”是中等職業(yè)學(xué)校處理師生關(guān)系的一條準(zhǔn)則。就學(xué)校總體工作而言,“關(guān)心師生的日常生活,幫助師生的學(xué)習(xí)和工作”是第一要求。建議職業(yè)學(xué)校嚴(yán)把教師“入口”關(guān),要求進(jìn)入學(xué)校工作的英語(yǔ)教師發(fā)音要標(biāo)準(zhǔn),口語(yǔ)要流暢,只有滿足了這個(gè)要求,才會(huì)去考慮其它條件。教師進(jìn)校以后始終強(qiáng)化On-the-job training(在職培訓(xùn)),每個(gè)星期都要組織全校英語(yǔ)教師進(jìn)行業(yè)務(wù)培訓(xùn),有口語(yǔ)的,也有介紹最新外語(yǔ)教學(xué)方法的。同時(shí),職業(yè)學(xué)校也可以通過(guò)建立“造星”機(jī)制,創(chuàng)造條件鼓勵(lì)師生去參加省、市、校級(jí)各種英語(yǔ)競(jìng)賽活動(dòng),培養(yǎng)和發(fā)展師生的個(gè)性才能,對(duì)學(xué)校而言,意味著成功地培養(yǎng)和發(fā)展了教師和學(xué)生的個(gè)性才能。對(duì)個(gè)體而言,無(wú)疑是增加了他們自身的社會(huì)價(jià)值。

此外,師生人本化還體現(xiàn)在教師和學(xué)生融洽和信任的關(guān)系上。教師應(yīng)當(dāng)注重尊重學(xué)生、激勵(lì)學(xué)生。哪怕學(xué)生些微的進(jìn)步,老師都給予表?yè)P(yáng)。在課堂上很少出現(xiàn)老師斥責(zé)學(xué)生的語(yǔ)言。良好的師生關(guān)系,愉悅的心理狀態(tài),無(wú)疑為學(xué)生人格的健康發(fā)展提供了保障。

(三)教法靈活化

靈活即多變,教師根據(jù)中職生的具體情況,教學(xué)內(nèi)容的變化,調(diào)整和創(chuàng)新自己的教學(xué)方法。對(duì)教材的處理,主要表現(xiàn)為“三活”:

1.把文字活化成話語(yǔ)。文字是死的,教師的教學(xué)就是把這些語(yǔ)言內(nèi)容通過(guò)教師自己的語(yǔ)言或錄音、錄像活化成為有聲有色的話語(yǔ)。

2.把教材內(nèi)容活化成實(shí)際生活。教學(xué)內(nèi)容一旦遠(yuǎn)離學(xué)生生活,語(yǔ)言學(xué)習(xí)就會(huì)顯得很遙遠(yuǎn),不自然。英語(yǔ)教師在處理教材內(nèi)容時(shí),通常由近及遠(yuǎn),充分利用周?chē)慕虒W(xué)資源,創(chuàng)設(shè)情景,讓學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)變得生動(dòng)起來(lái)。

3.把教學(xué)活化為交際。英語(yǔ)教學(xué)的最終目的是要求學(xué)生學(xué)會(huì)交際,而把教學(xué)過(guò)程直接交際化則大大縮短了學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)語(yǔ)言的時(shí)間,極大地提高了學(xué)習(xí)效率。例如:英語(yǔ)教師上的Theme Teaching(主題教學(xué))就是如此。主題教學(xué)主要是為了訓(xùn)練學(xué)生在特定的背景下學(xué)會(huì)與人交流,因此,建議職業(yè)學(xué)校創(chuàng)建主題教學(xué)室,一進(jìn)入這間教室就有身臨其境的感覺(jué)。例如:這個(gè)月的主題是On the Flight,教師就把它布置成機(jī)艙的模樣,在座位標(biāo)示哪個(gè)是Window seat。利用此環(huán)境進(jìn)行模擬表演,請(qǐng)學(xué)生扮演機(jī)長(zhǎng)、空姐、乘客,教學(xué)生怎樣辦理登機(jī)手續(xù),如果在飛機(jī)上不適應(yīng)如何處理等等。學(xué)生所學(xué)的語(yǔ)言知識(shí)一經(jīng)利用,就達(dá)到了自然交際的目的。

(四)學(xué)習(xí)自主化

為了使學(xué)生自主學(xué)習(xí),靈活運(yùn)用學(xué)習(xí)策略,教師應(yīng)努力創(chuàng)設(shè)英語(yǔ)環(huán)境,引導(dǎo)學(xué)生懷有愉悅的心情去參與各種語(yǔ)言實(shí)踐活動(dòng),敢于開(kāi)口,獲得成功感,產(chǎn)生滿足感,從而激發(fā)學(xué)生強(qiáng)烈的學(xué)習(xí)動(dòng)機(jī),變“要我學(xué)”為“我要學(xué)”。另外,教師也要經(jīng)常了解學(xué)生,問(wèn)問(wèn)學(xué)生需要什么策略,從而在教學(xué)中滲透學(xué)法,介紹學(xué)法,幫助學(xué)生總結(jié)學(xué)法,進(jìn)行策略運(yùn)用訓(xùn)練等。

幫助學(xué)生形成自主學(xué)習(xí)能力的步驟通常為:

1.要學(xué)什么?

2.為什么值得學(xué)?

3.如何學(xué)?

4.何時(shí)使用?

5.如何使用?

(五)評(píng)價(jià)多元化

建立科學(xué)的評(píng)價(jià)體系是實(shí)現(xiàn)英語(yǔ)教學(xué)目標(biāo)的重要保障,評(píng)價(jià)的確立標(biāo)準(zhǔn)主要是依據(jù)英語(yǔ)教學(xué)的總體目標(biāo)和要求,通過(guò)對(duì)教學(xué)實(shí)施的全過(guò)程和結(jié)果進(jìn)行有效監(jiān)控。從而讓學(xué)生體會(huì)到自己的不斷進(jìn)步,感受到自己不斷成功帶來(lái)的喜悅。通過(guò)教學(xué)反饋,使教師有效地調(diào)整自己的教學(xué)思想和行為,使學(xué)生及時(shí)調(diào)整自己的學(xué)習(xí)策略。把形成性評(píng)價(jià)和終結(jié)性評(píng)價(jià)結(jié)合起來(lái),既關(guān)注結(jié)果,又關(guān)注過(guò)程。既關(guān)注學(xué)生知識(shí)的掌握程度和能力的提高,也關(guān)注他們的情感、態(tài)度、學(xué)習(xí)策略等其它許多方面,考試只是評(píng)價(jià)的手段之一。即使是考試,教師也一改過(guò)去那種只考筆試或筆試加聽(tīng)力的做法,而是包括聽(tīng)力、口試、筆試等在內(nèi)的綜合語(yǔ)言能力考核。通過(guò)實(shí)施多元化的評(píng)價(jià)手段,促進(jìn)了學(xué)生的全面發(fā)展。

(六)教學(xué)優(yōu)質(zhì)化

通過(guò)建立多元化的英語(yǔ)教育評(píng)價(jià)體系,使得英語(yǔ)教學(xué)始終在總目標(biāo)的控制下進(jìn)行良性運(yùn)作,形成了富有自身特色的英語(yǔ)教學(xué)模式,教師敬業(yè)、樂(lè)教,敢于創(chuàng)造,學(xué)生富有想象,敢于實(shí)踐,學(xué)習(xí)英語(yǔ)的興趣濃厚,學(xué)習(xí)的方法科學(xué)、有效,職校畢業(yè)就已經(jīng)掌握了2200個(gè)英語(yǔ)單詞,具有基本的聽(tīng)說(shuō)讀寫(xiě)的交際能力。
